Solomon arrived at our center in February 2009 as a transfer from a rehabilitation hospital in Florida. As a young owl, Solomon had been hit by a vehicle which caused a fracture to his wing and severe trauma to his left eye. While his wing was successfully repaired, his loss of vision impacted his ability to successfully hunt in the wild.
Barred Owls are named for the long vertical bars that can be seen on their chest feathers.
