Rosie

Eastern Box Turtle

Rosie is our eldest ambassador at our center!  Admitted in 2005 as a full grown adult with a very weathered shell, we suspect Rosie is at least 50 years old!  Rosie was found injured at a local park following a dog interaction. Rosie is missing her left eye and part of her upper left jaw. This injury prevents her release to the wild. Now fully healed and no longer in pain, Rosie enjoys a comfortable life at our center.

Did You Know?

Eastern Box Turtles display shades of brown, orange and yellow coloration on their skin and shell. Each turtle’s shell sports a unique pattern which is individual to that turtle.
