Charlie

American Kestrel

Charlie is among the newest ambassadors at our center! Charlie is a four year old American Kestrel who was confiscated from a member of the public and brought to a rehabilitation center in Illinois. He is unable to be released as he is imprinted on people. Charlie was transferred to our permanent care in September of 2022.

Did You Know?

Both male and female Kestrels display a black malar stripe that extends down from their eye. In all falcon species, the stripe helps absorb sunlight and keeps the sun out of the kestrel's eyes when hunting!

Sponsor Charlie

Symbolically adopt one or more of our resident animals for yourself or as a gift to someone you love. Adoptions help us to provide professional care for our ambassador animals including veterinary visits, enclosure enhancements, high-quality food and enrichment.

Help Us Support Wildlife

We rely on donations from the community to provide the best possible rescue, care and rehabilitation to Long Island’s Wildlife.
