Wildlife Rescue & Transport Volunteers

Rescue & Transport volunteers work out in the field to capture, contain, and transport injured and orphaned animals to our rehabilitation center. Wildlife also needs to be transported from veterinary hospitals across Long Island to our center.

Wildlife Rescue Volunteers Wcli
Our Rescue/Transport volunteer team is dispatched on an as-needed basis. Through our communication app, all members are alerted when there is an animal in need of help. Volunteers can respond to situations based on their location, availability, and skill set. Calls include animals that are already contained by the public or veterinary offices, animals that need rescue and transport, and animals that need transportation to our veterinarian or to their release site. Additionally, volunteers may be needed to assist with transport of food, medical, or other donated supplies. Volunteers are provided with a rescue kit that includes safety gear, nets, and animal carriers.
