Our educators provide inspiring & engaging conservation-based wildlife education programs for children & adults of all ages. Each year we deliver several hundred presentations to schools, camps, scouts, libraries, & community organizations on Long Island.
Turtle Rescue - Wildlife Center Of Long Island

Volunteers care for our animal ambassadors consisting of turtles, snakes, squirrels, opossums, doves, hawks, owls, and a crow. Daily responsibilities include cage cleaning, diet preparation, feeding, cage maintenance, and enrichment. Additionally, volunteers are responsible for assisting in general upkeep of the rehabilitation center including laundry, dishes, sweeping, and mopping.

Animal Care & Education volunteers will also have the chance to assist our educators on the many different educational programs we offer. Volunteers will help with transportation, organization, set-up/breakdown of programs and occasional animal handling. Speaking in these programs is not required!
