Mama is a female Great Horned Owl admitted to our hospital in 1991. Mama was admitted to our hospital as a confiscation from a gas station where she was illegally housed as a roadside attraction. Sadly due to her poor housing, Mama had poorly healed fracture of her wing, which required amputation. She now lives a comfortable life at our center. At over 33 years old, Mama is our oldest avian ambassador!
Great Horned Owls are at the top of our local food web! These incredible predators are capable of taking larger prey including other raptors, birds, small mammals and reptiles!
Symbolically adopt one or more of our resident animals for yourself or as a gift to someone you love. Adoptions help us to provide professional care for our ambassador animals including veterinary visits, enclosure enhancements, high-quality food and enrichment.
